Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt

Easily construct a quilt pattern with a complex appearance by piecing together quilt blocks made from simple nine-patch blocks. Different arrangements with varied fabric choices yield striking patterns.

Great project for a beginner or anyone who wants to create a quick and attractive quilt. Fabric is based on a baby quilt but feel free to make your quilt bigger!


2 charm packs (of fourty 5x5 squares) plus one 5x5 scrap fabric square


Supply list:

  •          Good working sewing machine with ¼ inch foot
  •          3 pre wounded bobbins (optional but this saves time in class)
  •          A new sewing machine needle, size 80/20 sharp universal
  •          Thread matching your quilt colors or natural (grey, beige)
  •          Rotary cutter, mat and ruler (optional)
  •          Large rotation cutting mat to square your block (optional)
  •          Basic sewing supplies: seam ripper, scissors, pins
